Progress

It is worth stepping back once in a while to reflect on how far you have come when working on long-term projects. Breeding animals is a slow process. It is not something you can just hope and plan to do faster. So, it is nice to compare photos occasionally.

The row of lambs was a sample of our Gotland lamb crop from 2012. The scattered lambs are a sample of our lambs after shearing last year. In 9 years, we went from black, white, and over five shades of gray, to a fairly uniform two shades of gray, and a separate line of blacks.

I will admit, it is harder to tell the difference and pick out individuals. I mostly use their attitudes now. I can always tell Jenny, Jessie, or Jeremiah, because they won't leave me alone when I am doing my chores.
